ABCcount Teams works right where you're already writing — no separate app to switch to, no dashboard tab to keep open.
Sign in once, at abccount-teams.com
The extension automatically picks up your session from the website — there's no separate sign-in inside the extension itself. If you ever see "Not signed in," just make sure you're signed in here in a browser tab, then try again.
Highlight any text, anywhere on the web
Select a sentence or paragraph on any page — an email, a document, a social post, this page. A small radial dial appears right next to your selection.
Pick a mode
Click one of the icons on the dial. Your selected text streams back transformed, right there — no copying, no switching tabs, no sidebar.
Replace or keep browsing
Click "Replace Highlight" to drop the result straight into place, or just close the panel (Esc, or click elsewhere) if you don't want to use it.

Auto
Detects tone from context and picks a fitting mode automatically.
Paraphrase
Rewrites cleanly while keeping your original meaning.
Formal
Raises the tone for professional or official writing.
Shorten
Condenses to the core meaning, punchy and dense.
Expand
Adds detail and depth to a short passage.

Common questions
The dial doesn't appear when I highlight text.
Try refreshing the page first — the extension needs a fresh page load to activate on a tab that was already open before you installed or reloaded it.
It says 'Not signed in' even though I am.
Open a tab at abccount-teams.com and confirm you're actually signed in there (look for your avatar top-right). The extension syncs your session from that page specifically.
It says 'Authentication Failed: Session token is invalid or expired.'
This is different from the message above — it means the extension had a saved session, but it had gone stale without syncing a fresh one. Visit abccount-teams.com, confirm you're still signed in there (sign back in if not), then try again — that syncs a valid token back to the extension.
Does it read everything I type?
No — the dial only ever acts on text you actively select. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you select text and choose a mode.
One separate feature works differently, worth knowing about explicitly: an optional inline suggestions badge (off by default — toggle it in the extension's popup) can read the text in a field as you type, to offer live grammar suggestions without needing to select anything first. It exists for a different, narrower purpose than the dial — catching typos and grammar issues in real time while you write, the same way a spell-checker underlines a misspelled word as you go, rather than requiring you to select a passage and ask for a check. It only activates once you've explicitly turned it on, and turning it back off stops it immediately.
A third, also separate feature: the optional Context Hook (off by default, in the extension's settings) can read a limited amount of nearby page text to help Auto mode pick a more accurate tone — used only for that classification step, never included in the rewritten output, and again, only active once you've explicitly turned it on.
The dial pops up every time I highlight anything, even when I'm just reading. How do I stop that?
Open the dial once (highlight any text), click the ⋯ More icon, then click "Pause auto-highlight." The dial will stop appearing automatically — but it's still available anytime: right-click selected text and choose "Transform with ABCcount Teams," or use the Ctrl+Shift+X shortcut. To turn automatic highlighting back on, right-click any selection to open the dial manually, then click ⋯ More → "Resume auto-highlight."
What's the small badge that sometimes appears while I'm typing in a field?
That's the optional inline suggestions feature, separate from the highlight-and-transform dial described above. It's off by default — if you turn it on in the extension's popup, a small badge appears in whatever text field you're focused in, offering grammar suggestions as you type. Turning it back off removes the badge immediately.
